Gifts of persistence and healing beams of light 
shower on all of us. But the ability to receive 
light and reflect it back to the universe is only 
achieved by a select few. J David is one.
Born into poverty of the Great Depression, he went door 
to door selling Kirby vacuums. Nothing taken for granted. 
Thrift, conserve, take only what’s needed, leave the rest … 
were common practices. He built a life on strong ethics, 
striving to reach his dreams with clean honesty. 
In 1969, his paradigm shifted. Built a 5,000-acre model 
of ecological restoration. Then gave it to the universe. 
By reflecting on our relations with nature, we all can 
contribute to make a more beautiful world.
Always knew you thrive ... when you give back.  
One’s very survival depends on it.
No one is too small to make a difference.
He wrote Man’s epitaph over 40 years ago.
You can find it along the road into his beloved Selah.
Selah is Hebrew for pause and reflect.
