Tall Goldenrod Solidago altissima
A good pollinator native, full of nectar and very, very attractive to butterflies and native bees. 
Before you discount this lovely perennial wildflower because of the pollen, be aware that this 
is not a problem for hay fever suffers. Goldenrod is showing up more in floral arrangements

Swamp Sunflower  Helianthus angustifolius
Swamp Sunflower thrives in moist areas and can also tolerate periods of drought, too. This 
will make a great plant for the swales in rain gardens! Swamp Sunflower has a dark purplish 
center and reddish purple stems and skinny willowy leaves. With the whole plant covered 
in golden yellow flowers—butterflies, bees and other pollinators love this nectar source.

Sow this seed thickly to create a succession of blooms for a six-month period. Single plants 
may be in flower for two months then go to seed. They look great on a rocky slope. This is
