Before you discount this lovely perennial wildflower because of the pollen, be aware that this is not a problem for hay fever sufferers. Goldenrod is often confused with Ragweed, which is a similar looking plant that releases pollen into the air in the fall and causes trouble for some people. Goldenrod, on the other hand, is insect-pollinated, so its pollen does not blow through the air. In fact, this dramatically beautiful plant is showing up more and more in floral arrangements because of its vibrant color and feathery texture.
