Oakwoods Prairie
Named by early Anglo settlers seeking reliable source of hardwoods for building materials and rich grasslands lands for farming and grazing. Forests strips with gently rolling hills of open prairie. Soils are slightly acidic, sandy loam or sands ranging to heavy clays. 28”-40" rains mostly May to June.
