Pollinators fall in love, reliably showing up during hot summertime through till frost!
Grew up in West Texas smellin’ Cowpen Daisy after summer monsoons transformed life. Cattle won’t eat ‘em, neither will deer. We’d see ‘em in corrals where ranchers worked livestock. Bum named when cowboys knew those pens aren’t known to smell good. That doesn’t fool the pollinators. Grows across US and northern MX in disturbed soils. A food plant of bordered patch butterflies. Cutter bees use it too. Let ‘em eat the leaves, watch the miracles. Unique Warm season annual, extremely drought tolerant, 2’-4’ ht. Large yellow blooms thrive in sun or shade. Easily grown from seed. Plant after frost, March - June.
