This hardy perennial native bunch grass is found from South Texas and Mexico westward to Arizona and Colorado. It is an excellent food source for wildlife and livestock, and grows easily in even the toughest conditions. Plains Bristlegrass grows up to three feet tall with good tolerance for drought. It is a high quality grass for southern and western prairie restoration or for revegetating disturbed areas on stock tanks, roadsides, and cleared areas.
