This native, warm-season perennial is well suited to the rocky, loose soils of South and West Texas. Green Sprangletop grows one to two feet tall, and makes a good landscape accent grass across the Texas Hill Country. It is best noted, however, as a nutritious forage grass when mixed with other native grasses in pastures.
