b'Got Bermudagrass / St Augustine ?Converting from conventional lawn grasses requires special attention. Alien bermudagrass is persistent and invasive. It can reproduce from seeds, runners and rhizomes. If tilled or chopped and not completely removed, runners aggresively take root and re-grow. But with equally aggresive persistance, bermudagrass is possible to completely remove. St Augustine sod is more easily converted using a tomahawk (see p 85), sodcutter or other methods. Rake up and remove surface runners.Mr. Smarty Plants:www.wildflower.org/expertBermudagrass Management Guidelines: http://www.ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7453.htmlSherman JunctionAustin San Antonio BanderaDallas Round Rock Hill Country North Texas16n ativEa MEricanS EEd 800 728 4043'
